HELLO i just tried to install vmware bundle or vmware workstation
on my linux system with---- sudo sh VMware-Workstation-6.5.0-118166.x86_64.bundle ----- then i put in my password but it always says ---- sh: can't open VMware-Workstation-6.5.0-118166.x86_64.bundle
I dont have the bundle in a temp folder only download folder
As I can see on their website their is no 64 bit version of julinux 8 available. Assuming that you have installed the 32 bit version it should be pretty obvious why the 64 bit version of VMware (x86_64) won't work. Download the 32 bit version of it or install a 64 bit Linux version to run the 64 bit version of VMware.
i tryed this one to--- vmware-workstation-full-8.0.1-528992.i386.bundle ---and it is 32 bit
and i thought you can only install a 64 bit os if you have a 64 bit prosessor ,
Doesent this mean (x86_64) it works for 32 and 64 because when i installed my new windows 7 ultimate Windows 7 Ultimate x86/x64 it was versatile from 32 to 64
and i thought you can only install a 64 bit os if you have a 64 bit prosessor
True. Nowadays almost all desktop CPUs are 64 bit capable.

No, it means that you have to use a x86 CPU with 64 bit extensions. Other names for those are amd64 and x64.

Don't know much about Windows 7, but AFAIK they have explicit versions for 32 and 64 bit. May it be that your box shipped with both the 32 and the 64 bit version?
i figured it out i MOVED BUNDLE TO DESKTOP and then in terminal cd Desktop enter ls enter
sudo sh VMware-Workstation-Full-8.0.1-528992.i386.bundle ----enter password enter done
thanks TobiSGD
