Question How do I connect a non-usb microphone to a VM through virt-manager?

I'm not sure what this kind of mic is called but it plugs into an audio jack. It is standalone microphone, no headset. I know the mic works because I've recorded from it on the host. I just don't know how to connect it to the guest.

It's an Analogue mike. Nothing fancy, just a coil of wire or crystal.

It's not the mic you have to get into your VM, it's the sound card it plugs into. So you don't load drivers in the host, but load them in the guest.

You need to make sure that you have passthrough configured so vm client can see physical hardware.
