Hey SecretCode,

Sorry for the late reply.

I upped the video memory to 64 and tried again, no joy -- VBox crashed yet again.

I uninstalled a few Vbox entries in Synaptic and installed VBox 4.1.6 from their website.

Then, I ran sudo ./VBoxLinuxAdditions.run as you said above and rebooted. SORTED!
