brctl showmacs vmbr0

Hi,
I'm running proxmox virtualization with only 4 lxc containers and 1 virtual machine.

When I run brctl showmacs vmbr0 I get 131 mac addresses. I did delete and readded several containers/vms, but definitely not as much. I also understand that there are two macs for each vm/container, the one seen in the host and the one seen within the vm/container. But I'm not sure if that would justify the sheer amount. Moreover, shouldn't there be currently used mac addresses? Or are they incremented, so that each time I add another vm/container, another two mac addresses are added, even if I delete previous vm/containers.

After starting 4 containers, I get another 12 macs - so that's 3 macs per container, 143 in total. I'm buffled.

Any ideas?
