Hi,
I'm trying to use a vdi located on a samba share which is mounted with gvfs-mount under /run/user/1000/gvfs/....
I can read and write on this share in nautilus or terminal. So permissions shouldn't be a problem. But when I try to use the vdi as storage device in a VM, I get the following error:
Code:
Failed to open the disk image file /run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=server,share=virtualbox/vm/vm.vdi
under details i get this
Code:
Failed to open the disk image file /run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=server,share=virtualbox/vm/vm.vdi.
Could not open the medium '/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=server,share=virtualbox/vm/vm.vdi'.
VD: error VERR_NET_OPERATION_NOT_SUPPORTED opening image file '/run/user/1000/gvfs/smb-share:server=server,share=virtualbox/vm/vm.vdi' (VERR_NET_OPERATION_NOT_SUPPORTED).

Other virtual machines with local vdi's work just fine and when I mount the share with "mount ..." this one too.
What am I doing wrong or is this a known limitation of Virtualbox?
