I want to modify the boot loader image on YUMI. I'm not sure if it's lilo or grub for the boot manager. I poked around looking for a *.png or something similar, but haven't found anything. If someone can point me in the right direction, I very much appreciate it.
In the first paragraph of the YUMI home page you will see the following:
Quote:
YUMI uses syslinux to boot extracted distributions stored on the USB device, and reverts to using grub to Boot Multiple ISO files from USB, if necessary.
When I said "image" i thought I clarified in my post that I'm looking for a *png or *jpg etc. Not a *iso.
YUMI uses the Grub boot loader. The background (splash as someone else has pointed out) for grub is a tux penguin that has the YUMI logo.
I want to customize/replace that background. I can't find a image format that is used for grub on YUMI, that is installed on my USB stick.
Yes it does, to directly boot an iso file on the flash it uses Grub2. If there are extracted distributions, it uses syslinux as stated on their home page. The standard method of changing the splash image in grub2 is to put a .png or .jpg file in the /boot/grub directory and run update-grub or grub-mkconfig. Works fine, did it on two systems several days ago. I haven't used YUMI but my understanding of it is that it is like pendrivelinux which creates a bootable Live CD on a flash drive so the systems are read-only.
