yum - cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base.

Hi,

I have CentOS installed on a small embedded board (no gnome or graphical interface) and I'm trying to use it for syncing with a windows mobile device so I found synCE. I went to install it with yum and here was my error

Code:

[root@localhost /]# yum install odccm
Loaded plugins: fastestmirror
Loading mirror speeds from cached hostfile
Could not retrieve mirrorlist http://mirrorlist.centos.org/?release=5&arch=i386&repo=os error was
[Errno 4] IOError: <urlopen error (-3, 'Temporary failure in name resolution')>
Error: Cannot find a valid baseurl for repo: base
[root@localhost /]#

I took everything in my /etc/yum.repos.d/ from my desktop (that works) and scp'd to the embedded board but I still get same error. The embedded board is plugged into the ethernet and is receiving packets (I'm also ssh'd to it).

All help is appreciated.

From the error message, you can see that name resolution is not working.

Yes it was a name resolution. I never edited /etc/resolv.conf, I added

nameserver x.x.x.x
nameserver x.x.x.x

and all works now.
