Angry Xconfigurator


i can't get the my redhat linux 6.1 Gnome gui to load. The Xconfigurator always finds some error. Any suggestions? The computer i put it on is an old 150mhz. Thanks

what error?

might need an updated driver or newer version of X? did you check out the hardware compatiblity lists at www.xfree86.org ? if you know what kind of graphics card you have, we might be able to give you a quicker answer to your problem.

Video Card Type

Its an ARK logic INC 2000PV Stingray
Xserver: SVGA.
It detects the video card just fine. That is the message i get when i run the Xconfigurator. Thank you for the previous responses.

your card is supported in both xfree 3.3.6 and 4.1

in 3.3.6 you need to use the XF86_SVGA server with the ark driver (there should be options to choose this in the configuration.

in 4.1 you need to use the ark driver. there should be (as above) an option for this in the configuration.

I suggest you get a newer distro though, it might make installation of the card etc easier.

Xconfigurator v.4.2.8

This one finds my video card but still won't let me use it. Is it because i need that version of xf86?
