Windows XP hangs first time after booting debian

I've installed debian sarge and windows xp on my laptop, a dualboot with grub. The problem occurs when i do the following:
1. Booting into debian and stroll around in it (playing in KDE etcetera)
2. Restart and boot into windows
Now, my laptop hangs, the loading bar you see when starting windows stops moving. The only way out is to pull out the battery and boot again into windows. Then windows loads fine.

Could someone help me as i didn't find anything on google (didn't found the right query)?

Did you install Windows first?

Post your /boot/grub/menu.lst file.

Héhé, didn't know it was so easy to access my ext3 filesystem from windows. Here's menu.lst without all the comments:

default 0

color cyan/blue white/blue

title Linux
root (hd0,1)
kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.4.27-2-386 root=/dev/hda2 ro
initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.4.27-2-386
savedefault
boot

title Windows
root (hd0,2)
savedefault
makeactive
chainloader +1

Ow, and i have indeed installed windows first.
