Why 'mkinitrd' not working?

Hi Linux worms :-) ,

I am now in a trouble, in the midway of installing 'rtlinux' along with my redhat linux kernel.

I was asked to run mkinitrd to create an image of the rtlinux kernel in grubs. But when I typed the command it shows the error 'mkinitrd' command not found. It is asked to run the command from '/boot'. When I searched the sym for this command it was found at /sbin. I then ran it by typing '/sbin/mkinitrd (other param) ' . It too doesn't worked.

Please help me to get out of this .........
