ok i have a total obsession with the korn shell. mainly becuase i use it at school on aix unix v 4 anyway a couple of days ago i installed mandrake 10.1 and when i loged in for the first time i opened the terminal and decied that i needed to change my shell to ksh and when i went to

chsh -s /bin/ksh it said it wasnt there.!!! now when i did chsh -l it only listed bash csh zsh and a few others how would i go about installing ksh?....

oh and another problem im having. when in want to logoff it will just sit there. i have reinstalled like three times and it still does the same thing. any thoughts.

You have to do two things. First check /etc/shells and make sure that ksh is one of the shells allowed on your system. If ksh is not in /etc/shells then add it.

Second issue this command:
which ksh
to see if ksh is installed on your system. If it is not then download the pdksh rpm from this site:

http://www.rpmfind.net/linux/rpm2htm...rake&arch=i586

and install it.
