Want To Only Recive Video Transmission In Gnomemeeting


all i want to do is be able to recive transmision videos from someone but it does not work...i just get the gnomemeeting splash screen. The configuration druid does not detect my /dev/video* neither 1 or 0 work. It is very frustrating. I also have unchecked enable video trasnmssion and just have recieve video transmission on. Any tips? Just wanna be able to view a friend.

well you are using a webcam or not
/dev/video* should work
check that out with xawtv
(but you should have a webcam which works in linux)

no i dont have a webcam....will i still be able to recive video from somoeone? sorry i shoulda included that in my orignal post....i have no webcam. what is xawtv?

any ideas?

you don't need a webcam just the ip or the gatekeeper name of the computer you are trying to connect,this would be enough.
