VLC won't open OGG Files

Movie Player will open the same files but VLC will not. VLC will play videos and MP3s though. Any clues?

Thanks / Reputation (whatever) in advance!

Are there any suggested (optional) dependencies for VLC that are not installed?
If you run VLC from a terminal, what is the output when you attempt to play an OGG file?

I tried "vlc bla" by the way. How about them beans?

@localhost ~]$ vlc "/home/me/The Smithereens/Blown to Smithereens: Best of the Smithereens/11 - Blues Before & After.ogg"
VLC media player 0.8.6c Janus
[00000333] main decoder error: no suitable decoder module for fourcc `undf'.
VLC probably does not support this sound or video format.

VLC has Problems with OGG bitrate > 128kbit/sec

Hello,

sometimes you encounter (youtube jdownloader) OGG files with 152KBit/sec.

VLC 2.2.8 complains with:

Codec not supported:
VLC could not decode the format "Opus" (Opus Audio)

try 128Bit/sec should work
