Virtual Desktops...

A quick question. I know, at least in Ubuntu, there are Virtual Workspaces. But is there a way to have Virtual Desktops. Workspaces really only allocate open windows. I would like to have different groups of icons, links, or file thumbnails, each associated with their own desktop. Is this possible?

You could set up different users, each with their own icons and desktop. You could also consider virtual machines, using xen - in FC 6 there is a virt-manager application that makes it easy to create virtual machines.
