Question Variables for Squid Access Log

I've found tons of analyzers for the Squid access log. I guess I'm looking for more of a script to process these files. We use usernames/passwords for Squid and I'd like to be able to pull username access. Such as I want to see where John Doe has been this week. I run the script entering in a date range and username and get a report from it.

Is there such a program or script to do this? I was thinking I could do this in a bash script but I've never done anything like this before. Any suggestions?

Any resources for Squid log analyzers besides the one on the Squid homepage? Any resources for writing bash scripts?

Thanks for everyones help!

you can make this with a bash script. little bit work - but anyway good for learning bash ;-)

there is a tool called sarg (squid access report generator). maybe you have allready tried it. it puts out html pages with >daily< reports.

i don't know of a tool doing what you want, but i can imagine there is one out there since it seems to be a common task. afaik there are a lot of squid utils at sourceforge. have a look there and ..happy googling.

I may have found a program called Internet Access Monitor for Squid which will do what I'm looking for. However it could also be a $200 solution

Thanks!
