upgrading to redhat enterprise linux 4 from fedora core 2
hi,
i have a 1and1 root server and i want to upgrade the existing fedora core 2 os with RHEL 4 that i just subscribed to. Does anybody know if its upgradable?? and how to do that?? As with all dedicated servers.. i have acess to the server using ssh only.. although i have full control.
If not, how do install it then?? only using ssh acess.
REALLY REALLY DESPERATELY NEED HELP!! (i am soory i am not shouting, just requesting..!)
hi,
I think u can upgrade otherwise having two kernels as startup option at the grub
If u have ssh access to the server , then why can't u go for network installation.
Use the startupdisk or bootup cd
type linux askmethod
select the language , method like ftp, http etc
then give up the ip address of dedicted server and the path
regards,
Tom.
i cant use the startup disk or the bootup cd.. the server is located somewhere i dont even know... i cant physically see it.. thats what i ment by ssh and only ssh access. and i dont think dual option is an option as i wont be able to choose a domain during the start, so i need to find a way to replace the existing fedora installation.
