Question Unable to Install TMUX TPM Plugin on Rocky Linux 8.7 with TMUX version 2.7

Hi all,

I wonder if anyone has encountered an issue with installing TPM plugin for TMUX on Rocky Linux 8.7. I followed the instructions as mentioned in their Github but I couldn't get it installed. I did the same thing on my Fedora 37 system, running TMUX 3.3a, and it worked as expected.

My TMUX configuration is set at ~/.tmux.conf and contains the following:

bind-key r source-file ~/.tmux.conf \; display-message " Config successfully reloaded!"

# Send prefix
set-option -g prefix C-a
unbind-key C-a
bind-key C-a send-prefix

# Use Alt-arrow keys to switch panes
bind -n M-Left select-pane -L
bind -n M-Right select-pane -R
bind -n M-Up select-pane -U
bind -n M-Down select-pane -D

# Shift arrow to switch windows
bind -n S-Left previous-window
bind -n S-Right next-window

# Set easier window split keys
bind-key v split-window -h
bind-key h split-window -v

# List of plugins
set -g @plugin 'tmux-plugins/tpm'

# Initialize TMUX plugin manager (keep this line at the very bottom of tmux.conf)
run -b '~/.tmux/plugins/tpm/tpm'

Let me know if I need to provide additional information or post the thread somewhere. Thank you for all the assistance.

Hi all,

I was able to get this resolved. It turned out the plugin was installed but doesn't display the message I expected. This is what should be displaying when using prefix (Ctrl-b) + I (Shift-i):

Quote:
Already installed "tpm" [0/0]
Already installed "tmux"

TMUX environment reloaded.

Done, press ESCAPE to continue.

I realized it was installed when I manually ran the script. I received the "already installed" message.

Quote:
~/.tmux/plugins/tpm/bin/install_plugins

Hopefully if anyone faces the issue, this solution can be useful.
