ok, this is my problem. installed slackware 14.2, my native monitor res is 1680x1050, but upon starting tty was not full screen, it was something like 1024x768 in upper left corner with black area to the right & down.

so i typed
and that fixed my tty, it is now fullscreen. so i put that in /etc/rc.d/rc.M

but, here is the weird part..
when i startx, ratpoison is still not fullscreen (with the same black area to the right and down), but when i change wm with xwmconfig and select ANY other wm, it is fullscreen! what the heck? so, twm, windowmaker are fullscreen, but ratpoison uses only upper left part of screen (just like tty when i installed slackware before i entered fbset command).

is it some weird lilo thing? cant figure this one out..

I don't know what ratpoison is, but some apps take geometry arguments. Does it not adjust?

ratpoison is a small (light weight) window manager
