Why don't you just go into Outlook and export to a MBOX or PST file?? From what I understand about Outlook on Mac, you can just drag a folder from Outlook to the desktop, and it creates and MBOX file of that folder on the fly.
If this is for a company, why does it matter if you have to use a paid tool?? And again, if it's for a company...just enable/connect-to the Outlook server with IMAP, and use whatever client you want. Thunderbird works fine.
