Telegram desktop - how to have it minimised at statup

I value Telegram Desktop for messaging securely, but cannot figure out how to configure it so it starts up minimised after bootup (this is on Linux Mint, if that makes a difference).

Open Startup Applications via the Activities overview. Alternatively you can press Alt + F2 and run the gnome-session-properties command.
Click Add and enter the command to be executed at login (name and comment are optional).

My problem seems to be that Telegram is installed via the flatpak system.
In the .desktop file in my autostart folder there is this line:

Exec=/usr/bin/flatpak run --branch=stable --arch=x86_64 --command=telegram-desktop --file-forwarding org.telegram.desktop -- @@u %u @@ -startintray

However, the -startintray part of the command is not respected (or perhaps is incorrectly specified?). Do you know how flatpak applies command line parameters?

Install the deb instead of the flatpak. The -startintray option works there for me.
