Switching window focus (like alt+tab in windows) and Ctrl+Alt+F1 X windows problem...

Question #1: Hey, I am running Slackware 10 and Fluxbox and I have UT2004 installed, I play music via XMMS while playing UT2004, sometimes I want to switch tracks. I tried pressing Alt+Tab but it doesn't work (outside of UT2004, Alt+Tab DOES switch window focus) Any idea how I can go about switching the focus out of UT2004 and then back again?

Question #2: Also, when you use Ctrl+alt+F1 etc. to switch terminals, if I am in X windows in terminal 1 then I do Ctrl+Alt+F2 and then switch back to terminal 1 (Ctrl+Alt+F1) it is out of X windows, anyway to not do this?

When you start X you switch (by default) to F7, so use Ctrl-Alt-F7 instead of F1.

I have the same problem with UT2004, alt-tab seems to just behave like hitting tab alone. My UT2004 has developed a habit of glitching out, displaying the Gnome taskbar while still showing the game in progress, but the mouse cursor and all control of the game disappear. I pretty much have to ctrl-alt-FX to get out of it.

Ctrl-Z

Can you suspend the job using Ctrl-Z? That may put the game on hold in the background, then you can use the 'fg' command to start it again. I'm not sure, just a suggestion.
