I would like to install RAID 1 for my Intel entry server motherboard with Promise Fasttrak 100 RAID controller built-in. I have difficulties install SLE9 with Promise RAID controller. Does anyone have experience install RAID 1 with SuSE Enterprise Server 9 (Kernel 2.6.5 ). I tried to use SuSE 8 Pronise drive but it seems does not really work in SLE9.

Or does anyone know how to install Software Linux RAID with SLE9 with / or /Boot partition mirror. I have tried several times with GRUB boot loader, but fail.

My "VPN Matrix" desktop computer has the Fastrak controller. I was able to use it at first in Linux, if I booted up with a non-raid drive, but Promise doesn't release reasonably recent drivers. I found the partial source code once, but with newer kernel versions ( >2.4.2) it won't compile. A couple months ago I read that they were going to release drivers for 2.6 kernels, but this wasn't the case.

I ended up buying an ATA-133 IDE controller and installed Linux Raid.
