"SLI is enabled by setting the "SLI" option in the X configuration file; see Appendix D, X Config Options for more details about the SLI option.
The nvidia-xconfig utility can be used to set the SLI option, rather than modifying the X configuration file by hand. For example:
% nvidia-xconfig --sli=on"
Seems pretty clear. Either edit x config file manually, or run "nvidia-xconfig --sli=on" to add that to the x config. Sounds like it's a one time operation.

so i goofed someplace. i will go back and look at the CLI manual edit of the xorg.conf file. very new to SuSe (first day) and still semi new to Linux and very new with Linux and hardware and even more of a newbie when it comes to SLI. this is my FIRST time touching the stuff.
still i like how easy SuSe is to install and get up and running. i did have to edit the xorg.conf to get the graphics to work. for what ever reason SuSe left the vesa and other stuff in the xorg.conf i had to # those out and add the "nvidia" under drivers. once i did that i have a very wounderful looking screen giving me roughly 12k FPS with glxgears. now to get sli working *grins*
just to be on the safe side, as i have no clue YET if i have SLI configured properly. i have reset /etc/init.d/xdm restart so X has restarted after i made the changes to the xorg.conf file and here it is for review.
more problems *frowns* SuSe does not seem to be liking my vid cards. nothing is showing up as the correct card.

someplace in that list should be my 2 Nvidia GeForce 6800 eXtreem vid cards, but they are not there for me to see. to many Device unknown for my liking.
how do i get around this, get Linux to see and detect my cards correctly and go from there?
an other thing i want to note. for some reason my mouse can leave the screen on the right hand side. it can get lost over there in fact it is as if i have more screen, but nothing apears over there and i am not having to side scroll to see my full task bar (for lack of a better term) in KDE.
my clock is in the bottom right hand corner as it should be as is the > to minimize that bar, but my mouse can go off the screen over there...
