Splashy installation causes line in Ubuntu login screen

Splashy installation causes line in Ubuntu login screen
I have installed Splashy on Ubuntu 5.1 (kernel 2.6.12-9) and I now have a white line in the ubuntu login screen. The line does not appear with usplash. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this or how to troubleshoot?
