sound mplayer plugin Mozilla

Hi

there I am running MDK 10.0 Community and using Mozilla FireFox 0.8. I installed mozplugger and mplayer-plugin to enable viewing quicktime files. I am able to get the video streams but without sound. I also tried using only the mplayer-plugin removing mozplugger without success.

Any ideas as to how I can get it running? using ALSA 1.0.2 intel i8x0

thanks in advance

-A

do you get sound from other applications? try using alsamixer to make sure that your mixers are not muted

yup getting sound in all other applications. XMMS, Mplayer stand alone works fine (DVDs, VCDs play fine)

If you happen to have Totem then try playing them in it. I never could hear sound in Quicktime movies with Mandrake anyway. However, I can here it all just fine in Gentoo and since Mandrake has quite a share of compatibility issues unlike Gentoo which doesn't (however it doesn't beat SuSe at compatibility issues), you might not be able to get it working in Mandrake.

download all-in-one codecs (extralite), unzip and put in /usr/lib/win32
