Unhappy Software RAID 5 configuration in Redhat

Dear Experts,

I need ur help again. I need to setup software RAID 5 in IBM server. Reason is the RAID controller is got faulty of a server in a customer place yesterday evening. Server is still down due to RAID Card. If I won't make it up within 24 hours, downtime charges will deducted @RS. 1000 per day basis. I've to make up the IBM server soon. Following are the details of hardware and the setup I need there. Plz send me the step by step configuration. I've search at Redhat official site but I found RAID0&1 confn. there.

H/W details
-----------
IBM Xseries 225, 36 GB * 4 SCSI HDD ( 3 will participate in active RAID and 1 for HOT SPARE), 1GB RAM, Intel Xeon processor (2.4 GHz), Dual powersupply.

S/W details (Setup required)
-----------------------------------------
OS - RH 8.0.
Partition Details -
/ 8 GB
swap 2 GB
/var 2 GB
/usr1 4 GB
/usr2 8 GB
/usr3 8 GB
/backup 8 GB
/img1 8 GB
/img2 8 GB
/img3 8 GB
/img4 Rest of the space left

Please give the solution of both ways (Fresh installation and without installation).
Plz send me the solution soon.

Sound like you are using RedHat Enterprise

You can setup software raid in the partition section of the anaconda installer.
Choose to manually partition the drive. and pick "software RAID as a filesystem type.

Check off the 3 disks that you want to use in the RAID/

Check "fill to maximum allowable size"

Select RAID

Now create your RAID mountpoints for the RAID devices "md0"

/ 8 GB
swap 2 GB
/var 2 GB
/usr1 4 GB
/usr2 8 GB
/usr3 8 GB
/backup 8 GB
/img1 8 GB
/img2 8 GB
/img3 8 GB
/img4 Rest of the space left

Pick the RAID level in the drop down

This should help you as well
