Snd adjuster snaps to lowest setting in gnome on FC3.
hi. im listening to some music with mplayer and wanted to turn the the volume. However when i go to turn it up with the little speaker in the buttom right of the screen it snaps back to the lowest setting. I was able to manipulate the sound with the keys for mplayer but the the little speaker does not reflect the change. Does anyone know what the deal is? Thanks for any replies in advance.
what do you mean by maintence? This started doing this after i used yum to upgrade every package. When i try to right click on the volume control and click "open volume control" i get this message "Sorry, no mixer elements and/or devices found" I try looking on bugzilla but didn't find anything that helped. Im googling it right now.
after some searching i did gst-register-0.8 and i can open the control panel now. I was able to turn up the master sound from there but the check box for locked is clicked and if i uncheck it and go back it is checked again. I still can not adjust the volume with the adjuster. I have to open the volume control dialog box because the adjuster still snaps to the bottom.
It looks like your issue may be related to this bug. While opened against FC4, the comments indicate it applies to FC3 as well. There are some work-arounds noted.
