Shutdown win98 with samba 'net'

I would like to shutdown win98 from Linux. The suggested procedure
from the 'net' manpage is:

Code:
net rpc shutdown -f -I 192.168.x.x -U user%password
This in fact works well for a system based on NT such as Win2k,
XP, Vista etc. However, win98 doesn't recognize RPC and using the
command above results in:

Code:
Could not connect to server 192.168.x.x
Connection failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME
Could not connect to server 192.168.x.x
Connection failed: NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME
The man page states that RAP may be used for older systems (Win9x/NT3)
but the net shutdown command doesn't recognize RAP. The error message:

Code:
No command: shutdown
Does anyone know how to shutdown win98 from Linux if the Samba suite
tools cannot be used?
