screensaver crashes. nvidia drivers maybe?

i just got the nvidia drivers from the website working with fedora core 3 as in getting them loaded for the graphical boot. i had to move the /dev/nvidia files into /etc/udev. anyway im not sure if this has anythign to do with it because i never checked to see if it happened before but now whenever i either preview a screensaver or it comes on from being idle i see a bunch of random colors on the screen and then it reboots. i have load glx in xorg.conf and i took out load dri. can anyone help me.

I'm not sure what the problem your having is
you get a sivsiv error when you move the mouse and screen saver stops??

if this is the case
ctrl + ALT + F1 */open a tty session/*
drop back down to init 3
# init 3
# sh ./NVIDIA-6111.run
*/ installing the nvidia drivers again/*

now very important
# vi /etc/X11/XF86config-4 */ text edit opens the config files for X/*
replace
nv
with
nvidia

now just to be safe reboot

#reboot

now you shouldnt have the problem anymore.
if you still do get the kernel sources for your specific kernel from your distro cds.

Mandrake has them on the paid version you have to get them from www.rpmseek.com

what does glxinfo do?

It may be a glx problem. Try running 'glxinfo' and see if it crashes.

If it is a glx problem, check out this thread: http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=446816
