samba internal error when connecting to xp machine

samba seems to be working fine, i can see the XP computers that are in MSHOME, but when i try to connect to one of them, i get this error...

Internal Error
Please send a full bug report at http://bugs.kde.org
libsmbclient reported an error, but did not specify what the problem is. This might indicate a severe problem with your network - but also might indicate a problem with libsmbclient.
If you want to help us, please provide a tcpdump of the network interface while you try to browse (be aware that it might contain private data, so do not post it if you are unsure about that - you can send it privately to the developers if they ask for it)

is there any trouble shooting i can do to figure out whats wrong?

Try connecting to the samba share using an xterm using the smb via the command line will tell you if it is strictly related to the kde smb browser you are using or if it is truly a samba problem.

smbclient //<hostname>/<sharename> -U <username>

it should then proceed to prompt for a password if needed enter it if not thenjust press enter to proceed type "?" for a list of commands you can use with the smbclient. exit will close the smbclient. You can use the findsmb command at the linux command prompt to see a list of computers yours is currently aware of.
