Running Xorg without monitor

Is it possible to run a X server on a box that doesn't have a monitor attached to it?? I actually access this box throught ssh, but I wish I could start a X server with KDM on it and then, connect from a remote host.

I've been googling a lot, but I can't find any reference to mi situation.

Thanks everybody.

That's not how X works. The only reason you need an X server is to use the monitor, keyboard, mouse locally. If you connect from another computer, you use the X server on that computer instead.

That was what I suspected.. :-(

The problem, is that I can't get to run correctly KDM on the monitor-less box while connecting to the remote monitor-box wich has already running an X server on it. See my other thread:

Thanks for your help.

Perhaps you don't need to run a whole desktop, and instead just use SSH's X forwarding for individual apps. Otherwise, you can also try something like VNC or NX.
