Running user program from root


I want to do the following: for example when I connect my camera to the PC and it si detected by the hotplug, I wanna run some program as a user, not as root(hotplug runs under root) I would greatly appreciate any advices.

See you can do this by putting suid bit on your
hotplug programme

Have a look at the /etc/hotplug/*.agent scripts ...
If you can find the right one, and the right
action in the script, maybe run something like
Code:
su - <user> <your program>
from one of the scripts ...
