run level

i won't go into details, but my computer is stuck in run level 9, and i'm trying desperately to get back to 2 or 3.

... i will add, tho, that i'm already mentally writing a script that will prevent this from ever happening again, assuming i can ever log in again...

if your booting with lilo, you can type Linux 1 or 2 or 3 whatever at the lilo prompt. Once in, you can edit your inittab.
