Pirut is a Fedora package so OP may have to add a repository. I know RHEL starts life as Fedora at some point, but I agree asking RH support is a good idea.
I'm quite new on rhel (I was more familiar of Ubuntu but I changed my workstation ). I tried to find something similar as Synaptic for Redhat and I thought Pirut was a one.
On the last comment, I understand that it is more for Fedora.
Is there a graphical tool similar as Synaptic or Pirut for Redhat that I could install ?
Regards.jps
Is there not one installed already? This is a graphical desktop workstation? If you are using RHEL, then in order to get updates, you have to register and pay a subscription fee. Do they have support included in that subscription that you can contact? I do not use RHEL 7 so have no idea what is available in terms of a graphical tool to install software.
Yes I have a subscription. But honestly as it is the second day I have the workstation, I've no idea to whom I have to ask.
So it was the reason I asked that in this forum.
I understand. What desktop environment is installed, KDE or Gnome? Have you checked all of the menu items to see if a graphical tool is already installed?
As for support, I believe you would log into Red Hat's site and ask questions there but again, I am not sure.
So under the "applications" or "system" menu, look for a link about installing software. There may not be one and they may expect you to use yum, but I don't know if that is the case.
