Question Remote access not working

I have run in to the issue where nighter xrdp nor vnc are able to connect. I an running xubuntu 1910. I specificly chose xubuntu because xrdp is supposed to work out of the box. I had read that xrdp doesn't like 3d desktop environments or some such. Ether I will get an invalid login error indefinitely or the remote desktop client windows will just crash and disappear.I have googled around and I gathered that this may have something to do with the os not being able to be logged in both locally and remotely simotainiously. Okay, so what changed? Why is this happening? And most importantly, what configuration changes do I need to make to solve the problem?

Thanks gang.

this is a bit chaotic. Would be better to pick one [goal] and go for that.
I don't know where these information coming from, I do not admit them unconditionally.

For xrdp, check that you have a file /etc/X11/Xwrapper.config and that it has this line:
Code:
allowed_users = anybody
From 'man Xwrapper.config':
Quote:
By default Xorg.wrap will only allow executing the real X server from login sessions on a physical console.
...
allowed_users = rootonly|console|anybody
Specify which users may start the X server through the wrapper. Use rootonly to only allow root, use console to only allow users logged into a physical console, and use anybody to allow anybody. The default is console.

I uninstalled xrdp and ans vnc using apt remove --purge and reinstalled.

When connecting to xOrg the RDX window just disappears ssh as stated above. This attempt wasd made while also connected via ssh When trying to connect to xvnc it says login failed some problem.

Without an ssh connection I just get login failed errors in all cases. Log files are attached.

Edit: Just saw allend reply will try that

allend's tip helped. I was able to login using xvnc. But after closing the RDP window I was unable to login to the Linux box locally. hmm When the linux box IS logged in locally xrdp does not work and rdp just crashed back to the desktop as before. Wild guess: after version 16 (this worked back then) ubuntu doesn't liker the same user being logged in twice.
