Quick RPM question

Hi,
Quick question...why is it when I install RPM packages that require a library older than the one I have i get failed dependencies? I get the same problem even when I force the installation.

Thanks,
Alan

The older libs maynot supply the functions that the newer software may need and/or expect. Consider going to www.freshrpms.net and getting/installing and using apt. It can help.

Cheers--

Thanks for the help...I'll definitely try it out.
The main thing i'm trying to install is Afterstep. Any help with that would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Alan
