to install php in my linux server redhat 7 and to connect it with mysql i get the following error.......
"
Warning: MySQL Connection Failed: Unknown MySQL Server Host 'localhost;mysql_socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2)
in /usr/local/apache/htdocs/testphp.php on line 3
Could not connect
"
The obvious question is: Is MySQL running? Make sure by looking at your running processes 'ps -xa' shows everything on the system. The error your getting refers to your DB not being able to be contacted. Make sure you have also already set up MySQL correctly(howto's are good for this) and also make sure that your using a valid user/pass combination in your test script.
hello jrmann1999,
thanks for ur time.mysql is running o.k.i check this by ps ax ,it may be "valid user/pass combination ".. let me see
