Pipelight for Ubuntu 14.04

I recently installed Ubuntu 14.04 on my daughter's desktop computer. Everything was fine until she needed Silverlight to view an online training class. From reading the forums, is Silverlight or (Pipelight) on the way out? Almost a year ago, I tried installing Pipelight and it wasn't an easy task. Since she lives miles away and is not computer literate, let alone Linux literate it would be an impossible task for her try and install Pipelight. I understand that it would waste resources to try and program a dying piece of software. Any ideas? My only option available to me is to put Windows 7 back on her computer. Thanks.

A quick check on Wikipedia shows that Siverlight has been deprecated since 2012 - why do these courses use obsolete software? - but still works in the current IE.

Pipelight may have got easier since you last tried. The documentation doesn't look that complex:

If your daughter is to survive in the 21st century, maybe she needs to get a bit more computer literate!

Silverlight

Thanks David, The easiest way to solve the problem was to use an old copy of Win 7 that I will never use again and found a cheap laptop got that going for her. She isn't a techie like her dad so being computer literate isn't going to work for her. So problem solved, thanks for the input.
