From Linux, i've created some files in a win95 shared disk as root.
If then i login as user an i would use that files, i can't save that files at the same location.
That's is becouse they are all rwxr-xr-x and of ROOT property.
But if i login as root and i try to set them as rwxrwxrwx, they remain rwxr-xr-x.
So seems i've got no way to save that files in the same location as normal user.
It's how the directory is mounted. You have to mount the filesystem with either world permissions, or at least give them to the group that your user belongs to. A umask of 002 is usually pretty safe for that. Anyway, you'll need to add that to the entry (if it exists) in your /etc/fstab file.
I've modify my /etc/fstab mounting all the fat32 disks as rw,
& exec, permissions for user group. I was just interested in work an save the files as user on that disks, just becouse some time ago i had lost all my linux partition content, for a bad sector boot problem. In this way a will not lose my projects.
