Patch Management in linux


Hai all,

Can any give brief explanation about the Patch Management in linux?

And tell with an example of how to work with this patch management in linux?

It varies from distribution to distribution.

You appear to be using Ubuntu (or some flavor of Ubuntu) and, if memory serves, you select update from a menu and get updates (patches) that way.

As above, in Linux its referred to as update management.
If you have a GUI, there'll be a tool there eg on RHEL derived systems its 'Add/Remove Software', but others will call it something else.
See the home site for your distro for details.

Underneath at the cli, you call the 'pkg mgr' tool via the correct name; again, it varies.
RHEL derived uses 'yum', Debian derived uses apt-get, other distros may have others.
As above, check the home site/google.
