p2p client eating 99% cup load !!! (and hideing it from 'top')
Hey guys...
i have a 1.3Ghz Athlon Processor, 512 Meg Ram.
and i use the p2p file shareing client Apollon. (which is a frontend to giFT which is using 2 pluggins, fasttrack and gnutrlla)
in normally, apollol is quite gready.. using about 5% of my cpu load.
but after urgrading to slackware-10 and the latest version of appollon all in one go,
launching Appollon sends my machines total CPU load to 99% (according to KDE system guard)
HOWEVER... according to 'top' apollon and gift are using approx 5% CPU load... and the total cpuload is 10% (with X using most of the other 5)
this is the same for User and System CPU Load.
i belive that KDE Guard is giving the correct reading, as my system is running very slow.
the hard disk is thrashing about... (appollon is downloading at 18kbps...)
also KDE guard shows my physical memory to be almosr completely in use (but no swap in use, i have 512meg swap)
whats gone wrong !! ??
ohh... and im running a 2.6.7 kernel. which is configured very similar to the default 2.6.7 slackware kernel, optimised for Athlon CPU's.. (with all the un-needed drivers removed)
thankyou.
