Opera, libjvm.so, libawt.so and segmentation fault

hello

I tried to install Opera 8.5 on my system but it did not work. I got the following errors:

ERROR: ld.so: object 'libjvm.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libawt.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
Session management error: Authentication Rejected, reason : None of the authentication protocols specified are supported and host-based authentication failed
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libjvm.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libawt.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libjvm.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libawt.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libjvm.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
ERROR: ld.so: object 'libawt.so' from LD_PRELOAD cannot be preloaded: ignored.
Segmentation fault

I tried by deleting $Home/.opera directory and copying mozilla plugins into opera plugins folder but to no avail.

I have installed Java 1.5.0_06 RMP version on Fedora Core and it is working fine with Mozilla and Firefox.

I would be thankful if someone can help me understand the problem and solve it as I do not much about linux.

Cheers!

Have the same problem. seems that opera can't see java correctly :/
see if you have java plugin also disabled

in my case (amd64 & suse) only need to set plugin java to
/usr/lib/jvm/java-1_4_2-sun-1.4.2.11/jre/lib/i386/client/

look for file libjvm.so.
