No longer able to write to a shared device with linux, but still writable via windows
I am dual booting Linux with Win 10. I'd set up Tixati to move downloaded files to a shared drive. I did this on both versions of Tixati so that both moved the completed file to /media/root/Games-win/Videos both worked well until a couple of days ago. Now I cannot write to the drive from Linux, still works when on Windows. At first it told me that it was a read only file system. Now when I try to write to it it tells me there is no such file. I am inclined to think this has something to do with windows. I've tried resetting the Games-win drive to read and write, which got rid of the error "Read only file system"
What type filesystem is used on the partition in question? Since you were able to write to it from Linux and windows, I expect it was ntfs/vfat? Without more details on this, one possibility is an update on windows turned hibernation back on and Linux won't mount it so obviously you can't write to it. If that isn't it and it is a windows filesystem, you might try running chkdsk from windows on that partition.
