newbe question haw do you install stuff and what extion


HI all
I am runing mandrake 10.0 and i can't figure how to run aplicaions or the extion nor how to install drivers
i am triing to install a mircosoft mn-150 wireless adapter wireless b (i think)

To run desired application, if it is not in mandrake menu (strange, however, cause it must be there. And if it isn't I recommend to run menudrake!) go to corresponding directory using terminal
cd /Games - for example
and run desired application by typing ./"name of application"

What you got? RPM? Source tarball?

Install rpm's like this:

# rpm -ivh <name-of-rpm>.rpm
For source you need to unpack the source:
Code:
# tar xzf name-of-file.tar.gz # or....
# tar xjf name-of-file.tar.bz2
Then cd to the directory that is created and read the INSTALL and README files for installation instuctions.

If this driver is made for windows then it will not work under Linux...

Wireless USB Adapter (MN-510) is the proudect for sure
