Hello everyone.
I just completed my new C library called libPSF. The library is a very simple library that can be used to read PSF format fonts (Linux console fonts). With this library, you can render text on the screen without using overly complicated TTF fonts. This library works with both type 1 and type 2 PSF fonts. It can also read gzipped fonts if built with zlib support (default).
The tarball includes an example (ex.c) which renders the psf fonts to the screen using SDL. The example shows how you can use the library to read PSF glyphs directly into SDL surfaces.
API documentation is provided in the tarball in the file called DOC.
Compilation and installation instructions are provided in the tarball as well in the README file.
The library is licensed under the Beerware license, which is a non-copyleft free software license.
A sample PSF font is included in the tarball. Linux console fonts are usually installed at /usr/share/consolefonts/ or /usr/share/kbd/consolefonts/.
