Need program/script to check server status

Hello,

I'd like to periodically verify the following:

1) Number of current Apache connections (to make sure I don't go over MaxClients)
2) Current RAM usage
3) Current CPU usage

I'd also like to be warned, either by email or SMS (preferably) when any of these three reaches a certain threshold.

Does anyone know of a program/script that would allow me to do this?

Thanks,
TWR

Why reinvent the wheel? Check out Monit, Nagios and such. If you look up both names at Freshmeat or SourceForge you can browse categories and find more of the same if these aren't what you're looking for.
