Mucked Around with Runit, switched back to sysvinit, and now no mouse/kb on laptop

I messed up the runit install, returned to original init by applying an argument in grub, but now no mouse or keyboard. Anyone got any help. I'm in Mint.

I read on a OpenSUSE page, that it has something to do with issue with the boot at the third level, but I only vaguely know what that means.
