MPlayer videos upside down!

The first time I played an AVI in MPlayer it was upside down, so I went to the codec menu and deselected "Use non-interleaved AVI parser" and it worked. But now every other video I play is upside down and I can't seem to change it back.

In the mplayer preferences under the video tab there is an option to 'flip image upside down'.

It happens sometimes in windows as well. To solve that, there are 2 methods.

1. use "-flip" option
2. Turn the monitor upside down

Wrong!
There is a third method, which always works (even if he has a CRT display): he himself can stand (or sit) upside down.
