mozilla and slashdot.. strange anomaly

on all 5 of the comps I have mozilla on, 4 slackware, 1 windows (at work not home) using both mozilla 1.4 and 1.5.

I go to slashdot all the time (I am an addict), but unlike most sites it does nto remain in my location bar, I can type www.ker and then it fills the rest in to kernel.org. however slashdot will not, on any computer, it will never remember that I had been there. however it saves my user/password for the site.. what is going on?

Possibly stupid question but are you typing www.slasdot or slashdot? Because if you do www.slashdot.com or whatnot, it redirects you to slashdot.org. Which could be your problem.

I do www.slashdot.org
I figured accidently typing .com a long time ago could have done it, but cleared location bar, plus it does on mutliple system/platforms. also if it was .com/.org than as soon as I got www.slashdot.o(c) it would fill in rest, it does not.

I have not rouble getting to site, just never fills in for me.

thats because /. isnt http://www., its just http://, so typing the www. confuses it since thats not what the actual DNS is of /. Try just typing sla (it should automaticall fill in http://slasdot.org for you)
