Question LDAP Authentication in RedHat

Hi, I have a RedHat 8 computer that I want to authenticate via LDAP.

I setup LDAP completely. I edited my /etc/pam.d/system-auth to be identical to nearly every other example I could find on the web. I edited /etc/nsswitch.conf to include 'ldap'

The thing is, I have a user "test" which is in my LDAP directory. I can 'getent passwd' which shows the user. When I telnet to the computer I can login as test fine. But, I can not su to test, or use ssh to login as test. I have not yet tried imap but at the very least the only thing that allows me to be user "test" is to telnet.

I have searched so many forums and so many Websites but I can't find anything. Please help me.

Thanks so much!
